It is the privilege of being able to witness things like this that remind me of why I chose to live my unusual lifestyle. It may not always be easy or comfortable, but it is often amazing and extraordinary.

Last night in Vientiane, Laos we attended the funeral cremation of the highly revered Buddhist monk Phra Maha Samaleuk. Thousands of people gathered at the temple That Luang to give respects and witness the final event of this man who’s life spanned over 100 years.
