Weekly Giving | Charity Water
Almost a billion people on the planet don’t have the ability to get something most of us take for granted – clean drinking water. Water borne disease and lack of basic sanitation kill more people worldwide than all forms of violence combined including war. 30,000 deaths a week are caused by unsafe drinking water and unhygienic living conditions and 90% of those deaths are children under the age of five.
Charity Water is a non-profit organization that brings clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. Because all of Charity Water’s operating costs are covered by a group of private donors 100% of donations go directly to fund water project costs like pump heads, cement, pipes and local staff which directly benefits people in need.
You can read about Charity Water and their projects at www.charitywater.org. Next time you get a class of clean water from the tap maybe you can take a few seconds to appreciate how much more difficult life would be without that which we take for granted and give a few dollars to Charity Water.

In 2011 Jonathan Look decided change his life and pursue adventures instead of comfort and possessions. His goal is to travel the world; one country at a time, one year at a time. To accomplish this he packed up what little he saw as necessities and headed out. His goal is to spend ten years discovering new places, meeting new people and taking the time to learn about them, their values and their place on this tiny planet.
He embraces the philosophy that says a person is the sum of their experiences and rejects the fraud of modern consumerism that makes people into slaves of their consumption. He doesn't intend to be modern day ascetic, just more mindful of his place in the world and to make decisions according to that new standard.
